How much of Earth time has been wasted

Missing image

How much of Earth time has been wasted

On misery and on war ?

I wonder if God ever asks himself .

What is all this desolation for ?

He bequeathed a glorious planet

Supplying everything we could desire

And what is mankind’s contribution ?

Self-indulgence, as he builds a pyre

Even the multitude of man made religions

Cannot form a worthwhile creed . .

To bring combined love and understanding

Instead of our . . universal greed.

Jesus must be ashamed of his birthplace . .

And Muhammad must shake his head . .

It seems  their wisdom just falls on deaf ears

As their followers ignore all that they said

I’m certain Earth has a finite lifespan . .

As has all the planets and galaxy . .

So why should that precious time be wasted

Simply squandered by you and me

The Holy land is the Devils playground

And Muhammad’s followers a misguided army

Whilst the smoke from the ever aggressive dogs of war

Confirm yet again that mankind is barmy

How much of Earth time simply wasted

On pointless misery and war ?

Yes . .I wonder if God ever asks himself .

What is all this wretchedness for ?

    Outstanding

    Humans are yet incredibly stupid
But then there are some who are not
Let it be all arrows are from cupid
And love from all sides is all that we've got

    SO TRUE

this is sooooo true if people would just take the time to look at what God gave us and realize it is a gift and that one day all goods things come to an end mabye one day people will start to aprecate our planet and love and cherish it instead of trashing it like "Oh well when this one it gone he will just give us another" because thats not how its gunna be, i just wish that people would see this as a gift and folow along with us who care and take time to think of ways to help our earth survive mankind

A good poem asking some very pointed and pertinent questions. For the most part the rhythm and meter is good though it is, in my opinion, off in a few places. For example, I thought that the line "As their followers simply ignore everything they said" reads better as "As their followers simply ignore all that they said"

I have to disagree about Mohammed's followers being a misguided army. SOME of them are, most are not. Most are peace loving people as are MOST Christians. But there are many people who preach, but don't practice, Christianity.

As I sadi, a very good poem overall with some very good, pointed and pertinent questions.

    God bless

      Thanks for the comments

Thanks for the comments – Yes of course I know some wonderful Moslems – and Christians . . .but religion really annoys me at time.

Saladin was fighting Christians almost a 1000 years ago . .
The Christians have been fighting almost everyone since the crusades . .
also about a thousand years ago –

The Jews annulated the Lebanese and invaded their country . . about 800 years ago . .

Nothing changes, we don’t seem to learn a thing from all the butchery. . . God really needs to sort things out . .

      Albert.

Liked the picture taken here - I am sure when one is in the area where you were, these thoughts do arise. Why indeed. What can mankind do to rectify this, why does mankind allow this to happen? Makes one think about the future of us all, and how many more wars we can take before there is not more man.
