Unwritten

The most eloquent pieces
Ever constructed
Are those that were never written
The anthologies of the subconscious
Scribed while in sleepy delirium
Where mental pens write with reckless abandon
Telling backward stories in non-existent languages
Where unfathomable heroes commit villainous acts
And prose is built on pillars of nonsensical metaphors that
Paint figurative fantastically vivid illustrations
Words are simply pieces on the game board
Strewn about in every direction
But each lands in a symphonic harmony with the one before
As if they were preordained
All of this happening
Behind the back of the wakeful mind
Who takes all the credits for the little trinkets
That the sleeping mind leaves for the waking
Little does he know of the brilliance of his forgotten twin
Has surpassed his writing skill tenfold

This is a grand poem here. Great use of the title. Also the passage breaks were naturally done here.

Great write! The beginning was really amazing. & "anthologies of the subconscious / Scribed while in sleepy delirium" is a cool line... I liked all the adjectives & such... they created a really nice image. The whole thing was good, but I liked the beginning the best. (Um, in the second-to-last line, I think you want 'know,' not 'no.') Good luck in the contest!
