For a long time I was able to enter
the bathroom to get a drink
Even though it was very little-
but at least the water was both cold
And fresh-even when my father was absent
although I had a thing with water which
gave me a second source but it was only fresh once
for every filling
Now after so much time has passed there is a
new faucet in the old sink and to my surprise my
water source is gone- of course there is still
the secondary which has to have the water changed
at times although I hardly go to it being used
to the primary source
Oh how I wish for a good water source to which
I can go regularly- ohwater water water 'where for art
thou' water? Be you near and close? I need you all year-
water fresh and cool? I want you both now and later really
need you all year-might need you more if I took walks like my
father and sister as some times mother
Water water I need you like my food all the time and I
need you like attention even right after my meals like
seals need fish- no my name is not Tish nor is my dish ever
misplaced- I need you day and night even if I have not hardly
a bite- I need you just about 'every hour' I snooze on pillows
or under the puff oh I need you water oh how I need you
Author notes
I admit the stanzas might be to long, but I wrote this poem watching a cat, that I had at the time, wanting to write what she might be thinking. And as you might've concluded, I thought of her as is, my sister.
Isn't that silly? But I can't help, being that way with pets.
