Seeing all the things of his past
his eyes stare thoughtfully into the horizon
the things that go on around him now
don't seem to even take hold
on who he is today.
No,
what matters is the person he is now
the eyes that he has, and all he's ever seen
they come back to him every day and night in the simple form of dreams
but those dreams are so vivid
for even though age has betrayed his skin
turned his hair a darkish gray color
and taken his beloved wife
in those dreams,
he lives on and on forever.

Great Job !
This is a wonderful piece. Often times, all one has left, to see the beauty that once existed, but has has now slipped away...is our dreams ~Bret~
