The winter winds blow soft tonight
Each memory is held in tow
Her auburn hair catches the light
Reflected on the pallid snow
Desperately he pulls her tight
Years disappear beneath love’s glow

Think I will have to try this form at sometime too - you did an awesome job on this one. Easy to see emotions in these lines - good to be back home. Congrats on the HM.

Oh, this is so lovely! A beautiful "Harrisham Rhyme" if I may say so as one who tried to enter this contest and just couldn't come up with anything worthy. Congratulations on the Honorable Mention.

Nice Ruth
I was that man and remember the return home vividly. I also remember the time between landing at Travis AFB and getting to home; a whole different story.
Hope you are well and doing so.
