Like sorority sisters
cramming for finals;
we stayed up all night
talking, laughing, crying,
being ourselves
with one another.
The feeling was as if
we had to share every detail
that life had penciled
into our separate
but conjoined worlds.
As if, this would be
the last time
we'd see each other.
Yet, it was only
our second meeting.
There was never
a moment
of pretense
or mistrust.
No inhibitions
were flying about!
We were/are truly sisters,
possibly blood relatives
in another life.
All secrets
and fondest dreams
were placed on the table
in our room.
We stirred, dipped,
then munched on chatter,
like homemade caramel apples
and lemonade
(with real lemons,
and loads of sugar)
at a pajama party.
Deliciously confidential.
My plans were to stay
for a night.
That night turned into
three days, and then
she drove me all the way
back home.
All she had to say was;
"stay".
I know now
she had to have
read my mind.

I think that those are key measures to have to really have a true to the heart friendship.

=) I have many friends I feel the same way about.
I think that stay is absolutly an important word in a friends vocabulary, especially when you need to hear those words.
I really like the idea of this kind of friendship. I have a friend just like this, however, when she said "stay" I couldnt and I wish now, that I had stayed.... I'll never turn away from those words again.
This is the definition of the beauty betweeen women friends.

That was a very beautiful weekend that I will never forget for the rest of my life. We shared so much in really such little time. It was truly perfect in everway, although we really didn't get much sleep now did we?!
I am truly honored in all ways to have you in my life and this beautiful piece of poetry has touched me beyond belief. As I type this through tears, which are tears of joy, to have such a soul as you and the re-member(ing) of the love we have shared so many times before.

Awww... Well this is sweet. Friendship Between Men: We drank beer, wtached the game, Barbecued (or searched the sofa cusions for change to eat at Taco Bells), and hung out at a strip joint. The end. Not as sweet huh? I guess I gotta work on that. Good luck, love.
