I'd give anything...
For the first few rays of rusty sunshine
Or the crack of a whip called thunder
The playful wind dressing up my hair
The giggling grass to poke up in my bare soles
The warm air heavy like an elders perfume
Overpowering
The clear nights littered with stars
Littered with memories
The perfect afternoons
With nothing to do
I'd give anything for the sunset
With its horizontal rainbow of colors
Spreading to the clouds, like a sickness
For the first 'tin, tin' of rain drops
Tumbling on the roof
Anything for...
The blue sky beckoning my name
Beckoning me to fly
Fly to the land
Where I'm always free
In the warm embrace of summer
Author notes
Enough with this winter! I feel trapped enough with suffocating gray clouds and dry air. What happened to the rain and sun? The blue skies and clear nights?
