Lust And Lies

In the bedroom there is no hope,
save for the future tears
Misaligned by silky sheets,
as passions in arrears

The candle burns it's sweetened scent,
but who now really cares
Affections gone and all that's left,
is heartache and those sneers

The neighbors voice arouses lust;
The mailman brings a smile;
And sex is wanted without the trust,
but will she go that mile

A Suite of Waltzes once was played,
now it long has died
And pleasures wanted are betrayed,
by two that live a lie

The marriage, void of all the joy,
as family gathers round
The cold hard facts are hidden;
She prayers the neighbors body's sound

    Love's a funny thing. It either is or it isn't. It took my mother about four tries before she finally found the man she loves.

    It is unfortunate that my brothers and I were at one point, "casualties" of the battle.

    Her divorce to my late father wasn't an ugly one, but there were some rifts nevertheless, namely between the middle son and my mom. They're finally starting to heal up after all this time.

    Simply put, if one can find true love, then they'd better jump on it when they get the chance, because you may only get one chance.

    And it's usually prudent to wait. If you're patient, you'll find someone, and it will save a LOT of heartache in the long run

    Love never dies if it was love to start out

    So many people get a false view of what love truly is for you never truly love someone completly until you spend your whole life with that person . I have learned many things in the going on 39 years on march the 6th with my husband .Sure we had some really rough times and I never gave up for when I took my vowes they were to God for life and a promise I will never break . For love true love is grown throughout the years a life memory of good and bad and how you deal with it and make happiness return stronger than before .
    I look at my husband today and still see that 28 year old goodlooking man I saw when we got married .I always will see those little ways he does his face when he is about to tell me something or if he feels bad he doesnt have to say a thing I know .So love yes its a seed that you nurture and grow through life for their is nothing more heart felt than whats grown and cared for as family

    So sad, but who knows quite what goes on behind closed doors, there are many I see as they go about their duties that look to me like something inside them died. To me I feel if times are like this it is better to be parted and happy than live a lie for the sake of others who probably see through you anyway. Your poem captures these thoughs well and i am sure many a reader shall connect with your words. Another great write.

      You know

      I often wonder why people stay in unhappy marriages, especially today . I got out & it was the best thing I did. So many on here seem not to really know what they want

    Sad but all so true for many (most?). Thoughtful. These two lines are striking (almost tell the whole story!) & very catching:

    "And pleasures wanted are betrayed,
    by two that live a lie"

    Either there are other ties that bind or it's time to file the paperwork. This just sounds so sad...

    Thank you for the comment, I thought I would return the favor. This was interesting... I especially liked the subtle rhyming. And the word choice was unique.
