I was the towering glass edifice
That captured the world:
The blue expanse, the lush green;
The kaleidoscope of street scenes -
I was the sheer wonder
Your wide-eyed stare riveted on.
Then you slipped through
More by accident than design
Or rather, by a strange quirk of fate
And leave me with a nasty knock -
I'm broken, strewn everywhere:
Helpless smithereens on the hard, cold floor.

There is just something about this piece that just really reaches inside... I love the random edges, struggling to carry so much of the pained breath that seems to sigh here. Very well penned. Thank you for your entry!
