Southern Sensual somethin's

She reminds me
Of morning Hickory bacon smoldering In the pan
Memories of
Hey loves and honeys, sweeten my ears,
Tenderly
Clutching my heart in excitement,
feeling her southern charm
She speaks with a glee, that only momma would recite
Her homemade biscuits ,  soft, flaky full
Dance in the oven of my thoughts
I imagine,
Dream, that her voice has
Dimpled smiles, healthy thighs,
cordial curtsies while her voice stays with me
For days, nights
The middle times that swings
like southern belles at a cotillion
Her voice sweeter than any peach, darker than
Blackberry juices
Lovelier than an Iris
kissed by the touch of a mockingbird
My mind embraces
Camellia beauties welcoming the morn
Exotic as any Azalea
Her hospitable charm, has won over
My southern desires
From her voice,
Once again

The Volunteer State: This is the most widely recognized nickname for the state of Tennessee and one of the most revered. This nickname was earned, during the War of 1812, when thousands of Tennesseans enlisted in response to Governor Blount's call for volunteers (state flower: Iris State Fruit: tomato)

The Peach State: So called for the importance of peaches in the Georgia agricultural economy. The last of the thirteen original British colonies was named after England's King George II in 1733. The terms of the charter granted by the king specified that the colony to be founded by James Oglethorpe be named after the king and so it was. (state wild flower: Azalea State Fruit: Peach)

The Heart of Dixie: Alabama has no official state nickname, but "The Heart of Dixie" is prevalent and reflects the central role that Alabama played in the history of the South. A major Cotton State, Alabama also became a leading proponent of secession in the days leading up to the Civil War. The Constitution of the Confederacy was drawn up in Montgomery and Jefferson Davis took his oath of office in Montgomery, which served as the first Confederate Capital. The "Heart of Dixie" has appeared on state automobile license plates since the 1955.The origin of the name Alabama is thought to come from a combination of two Choctaw words; Alba and Amo. In Choctaw, "Alba" means vegetation, herbs, plants and "Amo" means gatherer or picker. "Vegetation gatherers" would be an apt description for the Alabama Indians who cleared much land for agricultural purposes. (state flower: Camellia State Fruit: Blackberry)

Oh, wow. Great job. I am astounded by the imagery in this, the sensuality, and...well...let me just say it's remarkably beautiful.

    Can you tell I'm speechless?

As I said before, you are most definitely talented. Love the author notes, by the way.

Not only was I filled with the beautiful imagery and metaphors of your words in this sensational piece, I was also afforded some history of three of our southern states. This had the beauty of a southern belle and I am still sitting here *sighing* at the way it made me feel all over. Sweet sensations and mouth watering tastes emanate brilliantly in each and every line. You have done it again, with such elegance you just blew me away. Thank you for sharing the gift of your illustrious pen as always and best wishes in the contest with this grand write. Love and God bless you my friend, Joyce

that was sweet. I have a tendency to add a sort of summary in the notes. I met some beautiful women in the south so I choose to write this. Some one gave me an idea to add in a lot more of the ladies around the country and then the world. And make a series with them. I think I probably will

    Excellent

This is an excellent poem, a wonderful dedication to the ladies of the south, who better to keep a man warm then those same ladies that reside in the south and know what heat is, maybe you should expand on this and do one for the ladies or Mardi Gras or maybe even one for the ladies of the islands, sounds like it could be the start of a new series. Excellent write, thank you for sharing and keep them coming.
