Time

The alley I walk does seem terribly long
the inevitable consequence dire
too great and too small feels the bit I'm allowed
before the sad flesh starts to tire

Author notes

Time. It goes on, much like life. No stopping it. Some days that sucks.

the way it was going through me when I wrote it, the inevitable consequence is death. noone gets out of here alive and all that. also, by too great and too small was about how at different times in life, it can seem too short or during bad times, too long

Awesome! And yeah, we need to invent a time stopper...k! But this was an amazing poem, and I love the railroad track background...it goes with the poem very well! Keep writing...
