You can't contain the cold countenance of me.
Shattered silver shards of serenity tumble down
to a screaming mouth that drinks silky self-deception.
Mirror, mirror, on the wall!
Damn the doubt I dam inside me.
Make me marvelous; indulge my insecurity--
Return the innocence I drowned in your depths.
Mirror, mirror on the wall...
God damn you...I hope you fall.
Author notes
Yes....I know I deceive the readers about the rhyming. The cliche phrase almost begs me to rhyme, but I held off at the end for a reason. there is a reason the pattern seems so...so...call it choppy. Stanza 2, line two, second 'dam' is NOT a typo. Homonym....its a homonym.
what a wonderful contest. I hope this is on par with what is expected.
NOTE: THE FIRST STANZA HAS BEEN EDITED SINCE RECEIVEING COMMENTS....I just felt uncomfortable with what I had.
please tell me what to improve

Harsh Reflection
Yes, sometimes we don't like what we see, and, aren't the eyes the mirror of the soul? What do we see? And how do we recapture those youthful moments spent gazing at ourselves making funny faces, posing, admiring, hating? Is a mirror the ultimate blessing or the ultimate curse? Your poem begs the question...nice job!
