Every year, on that glorious day
flowers gloom and rainbows light the sky
Hate's away, love seems to be here to stay

it's a day you never wish to die

 

Every year, on this pitiful celebration

I seek meaning in life

while others seek for adoration

I sit alone and cry

 

I don't want a day of romance

I don't need  a glance of love

Be forever mine
not my valentine

    I remember when I spent those years alone working 80hr weeks to make a life for me and the 3 kids. I'd have given anything to have someone special on this holiday. Now that I have that someone for my own, it's like every day is a Valentine's. Sure I love the special gift I might get that day but just knowing he really loves me and will be by my side until we die is worth it all.

    Sorry for the speech, I got carried away. LOL
    I really enjoyed this and am glad it won a cup, Cathy.

      Thank you very much. I suppose in the end it doesn't matter what day or which month it is.. it all comes down to being with someone you love and you know will be there even when valentine's over..

    Very simple and very cheesy. Awesome job. I personally HATE Valentine's Day... and I'm a GIRL! I hate the amount of pressure guys are put on for no particular reason! It's insane. And all the lame teddy bears and roses... damn corporations! Well to each their own and you obviously see it as a wonderful day! I hope you have a beautiful one. Thanks for entering and good luck.

      I couldn't agree more with you, Valentine's day is just a comercial holiday and a way to make people spent more money on stuff nobody needs. Sure it's nice to get a flower or a stuffed animal every now and then but it doesn't have to be February 14th to do so..
      Let alone the fact that people actually feel sorry for you if you're not with someone on that "special" day..
