I still remember the look on your face
How you turned away and left without a trace
How could you go without regret
You promised so much, how could you forget?
I always knew there was something, but it wasn’t clear
The thought that you could love anybody else filled me with fear
What have I done, what did I say?
How could you just walk away?
How could you let her enter your heart?
How could you let her tear my world apart?
The emptiness inside me is hard to explain
I've heard you can't fight love so why complain
The years have gone by, I thought I’ll forget
But my mind still wanders to the good times we had
The dreams that we built and what we would do
When we grow old with our love so true
I feel a deep loneliness inside
The thought of you keeps me alive
I know that you love her so I can't interfere
I just sit back and watch my world disappear
If you ever think of me again
Know that I am still in pain
I love you and forever will
In my mind it is “you and me” still
