A Guarded Life

Until ripples become visions of your imaginations
& whistling winds fail to find your ear
All that mattered was that you could swim.

So where is your heart if it's not on your sleeve?
I guess it's saving that care for another day,
a bit more rainy
When tears fill the well up high
there is no need to draw at all,
but cravings left dry
tend to multiply and crawl

into the depths of your soul
like a raging river found its way to your lips
breaking tender veins and drowning your plan
to never reveal your words again
makes it seem less important to keep swimming
than to sit back and watch it seethe
What use is it to swim at all,
when you forget to breathe

Please put your AP screen name in your author notes. I need to know who you are!
I loved this piece, and I love how you used both prompts. Only thing I don't like, is when you write & instead of and. & doesn't belong in a poem if you ask me. Other than that, this poem is beautiful and I love it!
