One Year

I've been reading
my poems from last year

I can't believe
where i have been

It all seemed to
go so fast

Like a speed boat
in the water

And the ripples
are just hitting me now

It feels like
it has only been months

A whole year
it has been

How did all that time
escape from my mind

These poems
tell my life

In one year
i couldn't beat an addiction

In one year
i lost the poeple i loved most

In one year
i gained ones i loved

In one year
i'm still addicted

In one year
not much has changed

Author notes

I have been through a lot this past year. (obviously) but i can't really recall it. i'm so glad i wrote poetry. when i read it, it makes me feel exactly what i felt when i wrote it.

Whatcha think?

  • I should really write one of these. Of all the changes that occurred over the last year, I don't know which I'd choose, high school, friends, Kane, or just emotions in general.

I hate how I can barely remember any of it.

    Have you ever looked at
    life and think, "wow, everything
and everyone have changed so much."
and you turn around and find out
nothing has really changed at all.

You should put the stanzas together
    in Fours instead of twos.
