These Colors Don't Bleed!

I love my country so much
I'll put stickers made in China on my Japanese car
And ignore how sun-faded they look after a month or so

I love my country so much
I won't feed and shelter the homeless here
But send my children off to die in a faraway desert

I love my country oh so much
I forget the millions of Indians that were displaced
While yelling at the top of my lungs about illegal immigrants

The Roman Empire didn't fall;
It became us.

    I love this. Its funny that I should stumble across this poem today because just last night I had a conversation with my mother about it.

    "The Roman Empire didn't fall;
    it became us"

    ^^ favorite part, though Honestly I love the whole thing. You captured the feeling perfectly. Wonderfully done.

    All truth

    Like your other work it doesn't fail to leave an impression. And I agree, America has become the new model Roman Empire. I just hope different choices and mistakes are made. The past is to be learnt from.
    This definitely deserved the gold it got, I especially like the third verse. Well done.

    Most excellent! Every line is true. I like the method you have used here. I love what it says. Very much to the point. Shancy.

    very powerful words spoken here. It takes a strong person to take stand, against what is wrong in this country. Our country's leaders 'have' become the tyrants. 'IT IS TIME FOR CHANGE', and the time is before us, once again.

    Heh.
    This is why I don't subscribe to patriotism anymore, unless it is for the new england patriots. They're cool. But nah, no flag waving or country praisiing or ooh rah's about how strong we are...

    our economy is a good reflection of how strong we are..
