No One Cares...

Most people think of the Marines
As the best a human can become
And their Boot Camp
Is where they are hardened...

Their Boot Camp
Is where some go
And leave early
For reasons...

There was a recruit named Leimbeck
And he left early
All too early
But perhaps it was better he did...

Having no one there truly care about him at all...
(I was scared)

Having no one there who he could confide into about anything...
(I could not talk it out)

Turning every way he found more people making fun...
(I could not take the abuse)

He finally broke down unable to handle anything...
(I panicked to the extreme)

He could not sleep well...
(I could not take peoples’ abuse easily)

He had just about had enough of it
(I was fed up)
He wanted to go home immediately
(But I had to wait a few more days)
He had to deal with unnerving situations
(I was uncomfortable)
He wanted away from them
(I was scared of everyone there)
He finally went home...

Author notes

Hate the Sin but love the sinner... Ughh... writers' block really makes poetry come out icky and not good. I didn't like this... not like it reminded me of a pleasant time. God I hated it there...

    Hi Alex!

Very creative in execution ... I could relate to this, for my brother had the very same experience when he joined the Police Force ... He stayed only days before he left.

I know that there must have been a very specific reason why you had to go through this. In the end every single encounter on your path makes you the person you finally become.

wow,i like this one actually. you know, honestly, i thought "ugh, another one of those MILLITARY poems!", but after i read some of it, i really WAS interested. it really isn't "just another one of those millitary ones", it's really good. It's sad, but it's none the less, beautiful. i know what you mean when you say like "i don't like this one" or something like that, because it's kinda hard to judge your own work, your own masterpieces in a world of half-"butt" work.
well i really enjoyed this piece of written art. (that might have sounded corny, im sorry...) And well im looking forward to reading some more of your work.

    C ya!

this was really good and i like it and i think that you did a great job on it. alot of ppl say that they dont like their own poems because the way they look at it but when someone else looks at it its BEAUTIFUL. i think its because when we look it we see different form what others see. but really its good and i think that you did a great job

You've given us all an insight to what it's really like - those war heroes aren't just what we see on TV. Although you say you didn't like this I'm glad you wrote it. I read once that you have to remember the bad times as well as the good to make it real, I don't know if this is the case here but keep writing coz I liked it

    Sad

Hmm...I am sorry that this is a personal experience for you. Though I somewhat understand why they would have to toughen ppl up so much, maybe just shouldnt do it in such cruel ways. This write was interesting...it didn't call out to me, but it had a certain flow in certain parts and that was nice. Thank you for entering I apprecite your entry.
