Dark as the night
Black as my soul
I feel like I'm drowning
In my own hellish hole
I can't find the way out
No matter how hard I try
I sit and I scream
I weep and I cry
Thoughts pounding
Breaking out of my head
All of this frustration
Depression and dread
Feeling insane
Out of my mind
Searching for an answer
That's not mine to find

What it's like to have a mental illness of some sort... What's it like, being plagued by it?

eh... I found a lot of Cliches in this poem... Try using more imagery and colorful words... thank you for entering my contest!

My first impression (that was the question, now it's changed) is of recognition. The final stanza is haunting to me, as if your energy is being spent looking for something that you already know is not yours. There is desolation here, but I'm not sure that it is insanity.

Thank you, although I honestly wish you didn't know the feeling...
