let's forget all the things that people said
when they told me you were fake
and let's be real for a change.

Hearts can be fickle and we try so hard to believe what we're told by the person who claims to love us... but lies flow so easily from the tongues of the pozers. Pretending is only a momentary bandaid, one that doesn't stick very well in the long run.
Your poem is a good perception of what can happen and often does, when a relationship finally brings forth the truth.
