As I lie down my head,
after I have whispered my prayers,

those are the ones I hold onto so dear...
I'm not very good with words,
our relationship could attest to that,
but if there's one thing I can say
before the silent slumber whisks me away
to dreams of you and I,
let me just remind the stars
that have seen my tragic tale,
let me speak to them and tell them
once more of my story of love unrequited,
of love irrevocible, of love unabashed,
of a love that never happened.
Then once all is said and done and dead,
may I lay down my head, and wash away the guilt
in a myriad of tears...
