A Thanks For Life

A s I sit here staring

T houghts consume my mind
H ow can we be so happy
A fter this struggle so unkind
N ever asking for more
K eeping only what is dear
S truggling in this world

F amily not making it is what I fear
O verwhelming guilt consumes my heart
R ealizing how powerless I am

L ove I hope will keep us from coming apart
I dolizing this Thanksgiving spam
F rustrated and confused, I may seem
E fficacy of my family to overcome, I do deem

(for I love them with all my soul, more than they, nor I will truly ever know)

Author notes

ya....so...I'm thankful this year that my family is still here...though we are going through some incredibly hard times at the moment...at least we are still together...still around...that is all that matters...food or no food...house or no house...I would be nothing if they were'nt here...alive...that's all I'm thankful for.

this one is very touching....i have only basic knowledge about the American Thanksgiving celebrations...but it seems to me that being thankful for the most important things in life like family and love would be there somewhere in it's true meaning....lovely poem....hugs....leanne xxx

This was a beautiful Acrostic poem with a wonderful message inside. Family. Family is definitely what is important and I am glad that you see that and enjoy it so much. I am truly sorry for what ever troubles you are having but thankful you are blessed with family to help you through.

Thank-you for entering the contest and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Your acrostic is beautiful and shows how much "things" aren't and how much "family" is.
    well done.
