And I Am Left Alone

          we traveled together
along the road of life -
          love our destination

          I drove you
          wild with desire
          and you drove me
          crazy with your passion

          as we mapped
          out uncharted territories
          with our hands and lips
          forging new trails
          on each other’s bodies

          we journeyed together
          crossing oceans
              of longing
          mountains
              of fear
          and rivers
              of regret

          somewhere
          along the way
          we made a wrong turn

          now you’re traveling on

          and I’m left alone
in the back seat of your mind

This is grand! I love the metaphor, and the last line is golden!.. I'm in awe of poets who can use metaphor cleverly, and you have done it very well!

    Well done!

As always, a well written poem. You've done a great job sustaining the metaphor of "driving" throughout this and I absolutely love that last line "back seat of your mind". That's a good one!
