people go on with their lives everyday as usual
they don't take the time to actually appreciate their surroundings
the feel of the ground below
the smile of a single kid
the feel of a single touch, a single hug
the feel of a peck or kiss
the feeling of love and being loved
people believe their pain to be the worst
they don't look to the best
one life can change many
don't think to make the choice to take your own life
it is only an easy escape, don't be selfish
that escape leaves you missing so much
and many missing you
think about those that are dying
with no control
live for them
live for them everyday
with no regrets

I was watching Rent when I made this poem. It is a good movie about AIDS awareness and I felt like I never really appreciated life. I have thought about suicide too. The movie made the images feel so real, even if I don't know anyone with AIDS, I feel their pain and it makes me appreciate life a lot more anymore.
