It's February the 5th 8.00am time to turn 19
Awoken with breakfast in bed and a smile
Marmite on toast, mug of tea and me
Presents and a good morning from Sammi to follow
And all just to see your face light up to start the day
Depending on the weather I'd still like to treat
take you and Sammi for a stroll on the beach
hand in hand you and I, full of laughter and giggles
as the little one runs round and round in sand
Maybe a short stop for a three person lunch too
Should the weather be too dreary maybe an indoor stay
A time for keeping warm and sharing time together
As you turn a year older and with the ones that matter
And if it rains, there's still that goal of mine
To kiss you while it soaks us through
Pancakes for dinner, a stack all for you
Deliciously prepared before hand by your mum
Watch you blow out that candles, smiling
with more loved ones around you on this
your very happy birthday
Who knows what the rest of the evening might hold
But between you and I, the pancakes will cry
Then to bed and reflecting on the day gone by
That there's now one to truly remember for good
On this, your perfect 19th birthday.
