Us Against the World

Hello my friend looks like we're at it again,
The whole world's going up in flames,
They're talking you down again,
Like you've got no heart.
I'll stand by your side,
I'm not backing down.
If they want to talk like that,
Telling lies around every corner,
Trashing people they don't know,
I'll be here by you,
To defend you until the end.
Such a sweet soul,
You've done naught but good to anyone.
They can spin their webs,
Try and trip you up with falsehoods,
But I know the real you my friend,
And I'll always be here.
We'll stand up for this once again,
Hand in hand,
Together we're as strong as anything,
Even if it's only us against the world.

    you really are brave. not many people can stand out and be different from everyone thats doing bad. yes, they'll think you're different or other names because of your choice. even if it's only us against the world. fight on and thanks for entering.

    I know how you feel, when it's just you and one friend and it feels like everyone else hates you, but you stick by them because they're your friend and they'd do the same for you...
    It shows the love you hold for your friend, and the loyalty...

    The concept of "us against the world" seemed cliche but I really liked this piece because of the power & message behind the words ... thanks for the entry

    Such Devotion!

    This poem is just beautiful! I love the opening lines: "Hello my friend looks like we're at in again, The whole world's going up in flames,". I like the choice of words in these lines: "Such a sweet soul, You've done naught but good to anyone." The ending lines really captured my mind. It is a well wrapped up ending and I like how the title of the poem is used at the end of the poem. Very well written!!
