I was ragged.
I may have looked all right on the outside

My nerves were frayed to the degree
that I jumped at every gust of wind.
My soul was damaged in a way that
caused every hand held out to me
seem to clutch a weapon that
could leave me bleeding in the dust.
Again.
Then you gave my heart harbor.
I fell.
You gave me a soft place to land.
I dragged.
You showed me I could stand
and move forward.
You kept me warm and held me gently.
I bet my life you loved me.
I bloomed.
I shook off my past,
forgot my exploitation,
married for love and
was living happily ever after.
Then I woke up.
Why has Lisa begun to wet the bed?
Why does Miki have such a haunted look
and huge dark circles under his eyes?
Why does Annie scream when you reach
to hold her while I do the laundry?
Why do I still need a sedative at night?
I know why I wet the bed.
I know why I had dark circles under my eyes.
I know why I screamed.
Knowing that, you know why I had to kill you.
You know why I had to put the insulin in your tea.
You know why I have to drag you into
the sink in the basement.
You know why I have to cut off your penis
and your tongue and your fingers.
You know why no two parts of you will
ever be in the same place ever again.
Thank you for the strength you gave me.
Thank you for being the Harbor of my Heart.
Thank you for dying so quickly.
My children will not be ragged
inside or out.
My children will not suffer years
with no protector.
My children…….

If i were a guy this part would seriously terrify me.
