My humanity
Adheres to me
Like a thousand
Deafening voices
I seek you out
Invisible ones
As though
We need words
As though inherited
Verbal language
Has bound me
In choking vines
Why am I not content
With your vibrations
When I can spin into your minds
Simply by being still
Yet I demand academia
Explanations
I ask for your ID’s
Long for you to show me
Who I am
Would a message in semaphore
Draw you any closer
If I book an appointment
Will I get a clearer view
Rather….
I shall let you wash over me
Confess that I AM
By ceasing
And
Unbuttoning my eyes
Will be blindingly revealing

I'll go along with the other comments about that "unbuttoning my eyes" phrase. A fascinating image.

I like this
I would love to see this played out, perhaps spoken by someone who is extravagent with movement and able to project their voice across endless miles of empty space knowing in the end that the sound will reach everyone.

I like the "unbuttoning my eyes" line. Excellent work.

An interesting twist on comunicating with a many faceted God and the realization of the frustration born from the arrogance of believing that he, she it would speak to you in the language of man and then the light bulb goes off . To button your lipps un b

Wow...
This is splendid! Your vocabulary is impressive and expansive. Semaphore, huh? Haven't heard that term in ages. In your second stanza did you mean to have 'choking vines'? This write makes me want to apologize to you...for something I have never done. Well done and good luck in the contest.
