The Day of Love

Valentine is a day of love
The greatest gift from God above
It only comes once a year for that
special someone you love dear

Gifts are nice and roses too
A special way to say I love you
Big red hearts are everywhere
We can feel the love in the air

Hearts are filled with emotion
from the love and devotion
So lets spread that love around
So no more broken hearts can be found

Cards are nice but hugs are too
Just another way to say I love you
So get out there and spread it about
make this valentine your best without a doubt

And soon we will hear the church choir sing
As couples exchange there wedding rings
But if you still don't feel that love
Just look up to God above

No one need feel alone when he is on the throne

    I like it. I like the fact that you want no one to be alone on valentines day... and that you say flowes and hearts are nice... but so are hugs... so very true.

    This is very sweet. My favorite part has to be about the wedding rings, because my mom actually got proposed to 2 days ago on V-day & her boyfriend and her looked at wedding rings and bought them. I'm going to be the one who gives her away since her dad died (my grandfather) in 2004. I am very happy for her, and this poem reminds me of her. Beautiful... I loved how you used common phrases yet it sounded so touching. Nicely done!

    A cute poem...it describes Valentine's Day so subtle.

    I love it! Keep writing.

    "And soon we will hear the church choir

    There are a few grammatical mistakes, but it's all good.
