My ocean’s spraying beads, like champagne pearls
The wind a gentle whisper; white falling crests of curls.
So safe it feels; a place of perfect peace.
A dolphin’s mewing welcome, inviting me to play
My yacht sails smooth, she seems to know the way.
Ahead lagoons, inviting, warm in the heat of day.
In silence as external thoughts all cease.
I drop my anchor, gently slide, into a mermaid’s spa.
Below, soft sands; delivered from afar.
Where Princes rode on unicorns beneath a single star,
where thoughts have wings and pain finds sweet release.
But now I’m flying high; above a beach I knew.
We sailed there when the working week was through
for barbeques and sing songs; when loads of friends came too.
Such happy times, impulsiveness, caprice.
There on the beach, I see those friends. Many now have passed.
They’re waving to me; smiling faces massed.
I feel my tears start flowing as this image dims too fast.
My meditation’s starting to decrease.
I have to leave, reluctantly; I’m back here in my chair.
I know that I shall think of them in prayer.
Through tears I see them waving, their spirits happy there.
So safe they’ll be; a place of perfect peace.
Author notes
This was my meditation recently. So vivid that it actually brought tears. I had to write it down, even though it was sad, it brought wonderful memories too. Plus more tears.
Photo: Our boat 'passim', is the second from the left. This was taken on the beach referred to in the poem.

This poem is such a source of inspiration. It is really calming and lets the reader just sort of drift away on the sails of your boat along with you in your meditation. It speaks highly of your spirituality and your strength of character that you were able to pen such a beautiful epic. Please keep writing, I think you could make it very far in the writing business if you keep it up

Amazing!
Isn't it amazing the journey our minds can take us on? And the beautiful places we can travel to? Ahhh this poem is filled with such peace and serenity. You really created a wonderful piece here full of 'champagne' visuals, and sensitive emotion.
Congratulations on the Silver by the way - very well deserved!
All my best, Amber -
I like this
I love water. I love the ocean. Its a simple thing to like this poem. I understand the peace and serenity that can be brought to one by their escape on a boat. You did well in describing and bringing to life that moment.

"Cocooned in meditation, my eager sail unfurls.
My ocean’s spraying beads, like champagne pearls
The wind a gentle whisper; white falling crests of curls.
So safe it feels; a place of perfect peace."
perfect verse, you describe a place I long to be I wish to be at peace with myself and your poem took me to as near peace as I can get. Again it is a great piece so full of emotion
"There on the beach, I see those friends. Many now have passed.
They’re waving to me; smiling faces massed."
This verse is nice It made me remember my friends that have passed and made me think of a place in my heart and dreams I can visit them because I have always bottled my feelings for them up afraid of letting the hurt in
thanks for sharing your poem is inspirational

I really enjoyed this beautiful poem. I particularly like the lines
"I drop my anchor, gently slide, into a mermaid’s spa.
Below, soft sands; delivered from afar."
It really put me there with you. What a wonderful name for a boat by the way!
Thanks for sharing.

You captured the idea beautifully. All the attention to the elements that made this your oasis. And the symbolism in your words was very origonal. I especially liked the lines where princesses ride unicorns beneath a single star, where thoughts have wings pain finds sweet release. Excellent visions.
