I’ve grown to know about the wind
That blows across the seas -
That stands the waves up straight and tall
Or sends them to their knees.
All ships must bow to his request
What ere he sends each day.
Sail on ~ sail on, through swell or calm
For that’s a sailor’s way.
They brace to meet the worst of him
They wait to greet the best.
They stow all gear beneath the deck
While sails stand for each test.
Bi-polar seems to be his way
Rotates from North to South
Or any point that’s in between
Can blow from out his mouth.
So blow wind blow until I’m spent
The challenge makes my day.
I’ve many oceans left to sail
I love no other way.
I’ve spent my life upon the seas
Grew up with rock and roll,
But any dance I share with you,
Breathes life into my soul ...

It's simply a pleasure to read poetry like this. If my mind were in the right place this is the kind I'd venture to write. Alas, reality has taken all the wind out of my sails...lol. Write.... write on dear friend. I need your thoughtful messages. Congratulations on the silver.
Sincerely,
Leo Long
