Reading moonbeams

Tonight is special
Not because the trees
move to an unusual rhythmic pulse;
Nor because the typical tranquility of night
Seems deeper and stiller
than dreamless sleep.
Tonight is special
Not because the breeze
is softer on my skin than a butterfly wing;
Or because the stars on Orion's belt
Glitter and sparkle
With extrodinary exuberance.
Tonight is special
Only because
The full moon speaks in a million tongues;
Telling me tales
Of beauty and gentleness;
warmth and light;
Of mystery and intrigue-
Written on a moonbeam
Read by heart
Preserved by soul
For a lifetime.

    Lovely is the thought of the moon speaking in million tongues. The simple beauty of the moon doesn't need many adjectives. The inspiration we get of that shiny orbit is indeed eternal.
    PK is right, your poem is beautiful.
