Blossom

Blossom

Her name is on my family tree,
a little girl who died at three,
only a daughter, never wife,
so long ago, her futile life.
But futile? let us look again,
this baby girl, this tiny wren.

Her life was one with many trials,
each was soothed with mother's smiles;
her father's joy and sister's pride,
she left a vacuum when she died.
They helped her blossom on her stem,
not futile when we think of them.

This poem clearly radiates the sadness one feels when losing a child. Even though the lifetime seems 'futile' for some, the ones who unfortunately had to go through this know much better.

    Very well written!

Thank you Leander! I cried buckets over this; even though I have not experienced it, many people do.

    Simply divine ...

in so many meanings of the word ... You touched upon the completedness in Plan and Purpose of our Maker, but in a most gentle and cautious way. As usual, your poetry touched my innermost core.

Thank you for the absolutely delightful work you post!

    Love
    Myra

Thank you dear Myra. No one passes out of the world without leaving something different, especially these precious little ones. Smiles through tears.

Now, this one punch me in the middle. I lost the child, girl of my own too. Deep, deep emotions are along the whole poem, inside each and every word. Sigh...
