For those who can't run it, this is what it looks like, spun around by your mouse:
(give it time to load; if all you get is the train, then you need Java)

for those who can run it, you've earned this fantabulous stamp!

Author notes

the usual unusual...

*tech note: I'll leave it to you to figure it all out; the cube is a java applet, AP doesn't allow them, hence the external link; and it requires activeX, so you may have to wrestle with your browser to get it going (as usual with geeky stuff); and it may not even run on your computer, as most security software running on computers now block such fun things. Maybe I should have titled it "Poem Cube for Determined Geeks"

I'M AFRAID I STRUCK OUT ON THE GEEKINESS FORMAT (WITH THE OBLIGATORY THIS WEBPAGE HAS BEEN REMOVED) AND MY BRAIN IS FAR TOO TINY TO COMPREHEND SUCH MYSTERIOUS GOINGS ON , I'M AFRAID I'LL JUST HAVE TO REMAIN IGNORANT OF THE WONDERS OF PROSAIC CUBISM FOR NOW AND I'M FAR TOO DIPLOMATIC TO SAY OTHERWISE(I MAY HAVE MENTIONED THIS) HONESTLY LOOK AT THE STATE OF THIS MESSAGE I'M SO BACKWARDS I CAN'T EVEN WORK THE BLOODY KEYBOARD(CAPS LOCK STUCK ON FOR SOME STRANGE AND MYSTICAL REASON) PERHAPS YOU COULD ALLUDE TO AND ENLIGHTEN ME SOMEWHAT IN THE FUTURE AS TO THE STRANGE AND WONDROUS WORKINGS OF THE CYBERWORLD!!

You are the Ultimate poetry geek LOL an applet poetry cube or an applet cube with poetry on it, six of one etc. Nice touch, anything that makes prose even a little interesting (see dictionary definition of prose) is a plus to me: and I didn't need special glasses to get the 3D effect. you are are now the of poetry (its a cube thing) lets hope resistance is really futile

Yes, it was blocked, I use NoScripts in my Firefox browser so java applets won't run without my approval, but being a curious critter I allowed it access...I am not a geek and that thing did more spinning than I did reading...finally I realized if I clicked on it...it stood still so I could read it. That was like a small victory for me. I think each cube face needs and arrow for analog folk like me, showing us which direction to turn next...though I must admit making the thing spin uncontrollably provided me more pleasure than I ought to admit.

I also liked the little train...and followed it attentively along it's path...if by now you are sense that my intellectual acuity is a bit on the obtuse side...you aren't far from wrong!

Thanks, that was fun...but now I feel like an infant amused by a mobile.

The excellent poem itself helped remind me that I have a few adult brain cells left...a sort of Don Quixote of the commuter age.

Don't know much about Linux (tried to load it once as a dual-boot system with Windows, wiped out my hard drive, I did!), but I would imagine that it would run Java applets... well, here's a static pic of the 'poem cube', it's up to your imagination now to see it spinning in space! http://allpoetry.com/images/ext/Image/41/887.jpg

    Ooooh I figured it out!

That was a very creative form! I actually thought of painting a wooden block and burning poetry into it myself, but the way you managed this was very entertaining!

As for the poem itself, it was a little difficult to harness the rhythmn, but it was still really good. I liked the third and fourth stanzas the best!

thanks for the rhythm note, I do like my rhythm, so you gave me something to consider... I am pretty rusty- haven't written anything for a few months... timing is off...!
