This child that stands before you is one of many lost souls that our world has created. A culture of want and need that has failed to provide needed services that should be available. Where justice comes down to the size of your wallet.
Here is an opportunity to see beyond the system that seeks to add another statistic to the record sheets. A chance to make good on the promise of a better life afforded the patriots of this great nation.
I do not see here another criminal developing his skills to become a threat to society, I see a young child lost, looking for assistance to get his life moving forward in a respectable direction. One that wants to add his voice to the world but cannot because he has been stunted by the temptations that pervade the society we live in.
He sought employment... was denied. He sought help... again denied. Is forced to stay in a place alone, where he is surrounded by the only thing he has known, addiction. The danger here is to fail this child now, to put him in a system that will only enforce the tragic death of hope and return to society in five years time a dead soul. One that will become what is feared.
This time, this moment, this is what human kindness and caring is about. It is time to see that with the proper care and guidance this soul can be saved and not rendered into a hardened criminal that prison will make of him. For to do so will not only destroy this soul, but that of his loving mother as well.
Please see a way to make the right choice here and take the steps to help, instead of hinder. Don't let the disease become the institution. Let those with the skill to save him, have the chance to perform a miracle. For we all need to see miracles happen. Don't let this become another Cross to bear!
Sincerely,
