Am I the guy that you look back on?
Think to yourself "God, where did you go wrong?"
Am I the voice that you made you shiver last week?
And your skin boiled, turned black and caused your teeth to rot
Cause every jungle I've ever been to,
I know the exact arrangement of the leaves
Every song I've ever heard
I knew when it changed to a rhythmic beat.
The voice sounds the same even when put to different speeds
I'm not dangerous, but my words will cut deep.
Are you the girl that I dreamed of every night?
And I awoke in a cold sweat, knowing not to let go of my breath
Is it the voice that you use that makes every man swoon?
Every target you sink your teeth in, ask you to do it all over again
Oh, I'm not giving up on you yet
Cause the time has to speak to get me to blink
I'll consider your eyes a silenced voice
that I would love to read
The fact that I'm writing this
Implies that there's something special in your lips
I want to break every word
into single syllables
blanket their black lettering
with voices that cause them to sing
And when you lose your tongue
I'll ring out the letters
so that every ounce of meaning
is squeezed back into your throat
So that you can once again sing
as loud as you want

Good luck on your HM. We all ask these questions, don't why. I have wondered to myself: Would I recognize this person if I saw him on the street? Yet I was so heartbreakingly in love.
