The poet laureate of Kent

The poet laureate of Kent
Is penning lines to steal my heart
That which before was only lent
Is now her part

The mistress of the tragic tale
Who tears the tears from every eye
Her poetry will never fail
To make me sigh

And now she's writing sonnets too
A sapphic ode as well by chance
What else is left for her to do?
In this life's dance

From writer of the odd short piece
To poetess to match the best
I hope that she will never cease
To beat the rest!

I hope you like my little rhyme
Good wishes that it sends to
You know that 'til the end of time
We love you Sue.

I really don’t know what to say
Thanks for the tribute sent my way
    Like a beautiful fine bouquet
    That makes me smile

I’ll always be trying my best
Writing poems that beat the rest
I hope I can manage the test
    To make you smile

Paint a picture for all to see
    Or give you merely fantasy
But love is what you’ll get from me
    I’ll make you smile

A triplet sapphic ode to say Thank You

    Love
    Sue
    xx
