i know ive got to die some day
the lives in the days and the
eyes of the sunrise
are short and slitted
my breath comes quickly
thinking about the eons
that will teleport over my corpse
my fingers and their bones
twitch
the rocks slowly start to rise
stalagmites of praise
apocalypse
i wish i lived
to see all this
but darkness comes
and my soul is mired
within the abyss
the lives in the days and the
eyes of the sunrise
are short and slitted
my breath comes quickly
thinking about the eons
that will teleport over my corpse
my fingers and their bones
twitch
the rocks slowly start to rise
stalagmites of praise
apocalypse
i wish i lived
to see all this
but darkness comes
and my soul is mired
within the abyss
Author notes
yeah. i really wish i was immortal sometimes. but then i think of that episode of twilight zone where the guy lived to be 2,000 years old... and i remember that "wisdom doesnt come with age." life seems kind of pointless sometimes.
kind of cliche with those last couple of lines, but w/e. im not in the mood to fix it.
Please tell me what you think

Yeah, I'm with you on the immortality. Would love it.
Great poem.

I liked most of it =P
I used to want to be immortal, but it would end up being such a terribly lonely thing. After awhile you would just want to die and couldn't...so depressing lol.
Anyhow I liked this part
"the lives in the days and the
eyes of the sunrise
are short and slitted"
It's a really cool image, the eyes being slitted and all. Totally cool.
Good job =)

I guess I didn't mean immortal in the conventional sense. I suppose I meant it in more of a Methusala sort of way.
