Serpent's tongue strokes
the ego's soft leather ego
with lavished licks of lies.
Smiles seductively
waxes the mind with
an verbally eloquent cloth
until the shine
blinds the conscious
to cunning fangs.
Victim thinking
he is a god,
never suspects
poison injected
by unseen bite.
Slithering predator
sneaks away
reviled by those
not captured in its spell,
uncaring the opinion
with stomach swollen
from person devour
who ignores
sound of rattling tale
of loyal lackey.

Love your phrasing and word usage. Very stunning imagery here. Nicely prompted.
