your hands were like butterflies
lightly brushing
the tender parts
of my heart
the closed off parts

you stole the innocence
of my trust
scared and naked
barely breathing
shaking

I knew
but didn't want to
yet I ventured beyond
safety's borders
to find out

you came home
and I kissed you
wanting you to give me back
what you stole
with infidelity

I don't think I want to live
in these lies anymore...

    wow this was deep and ful of emotion. Betrayal is hard but hopefully we learn to move on.

    Betrayal is hard. I like this line:

    "you stole the innocence
    of my trust"

    and

    "I knew
    but didn't want to
    yet I ventured beyond
    safety's borders
    to find out

    I see freedom in this line:

    "I don't think I want to live in these lies anymore..."
