These memories keep passing me by
Like grains of sand in the hour glass,
Or clips of old dusty movies
Long since viewed by eager eyes
These memories keep passing me by,
Bit by bit, they fade
Into the nothingness of time and oblivion;
Oblivious to me
And to he, who by little experience
Sheds many tears.
Or more so to he who by much experience
Sheds many more a tear

Contest entry - I chose option two: "Memories Are Designed To Fade", it's a song by Savage Garden. I have not heard that particular song, but the title itself was able to inspire this.

Oh my, excellent penning, here. I was especially captivated by that first stanza, particularly the ending two lines of the first stanza. Excellent metaphoric power. Very pensive write. Quite a solemn, nearly longing tone to it, I felt. That last stanza is most superb, and quite despairingly true. Overall, a despondent write, riddled with the pang of being corrupted through experience and the fading of naïvethow experience makes us oh so withered, at times… Well done!!!!

Nice poem, I think you can avoid the use of [..] and be little careful about using punctuation. Thanks for entering and good luck in the contest.
