Obsessive compulsive barricade crumbles
beneath chaotic hammer's blow,
canceling secret's exposure
of Southern persuasion.
Habitual process changed
leaving lips seeking safety
in a dried puddle
of denial.
Words wove reasons,
sighs sewed excuses,
both torn,
at the seams
by truth's revelation.
As time creeps,
lips bit back seeping whispers,
holding hostage emotions'
premature release.
Heart lays wasted in regret
of admittance
when in the end,
denial
reigns supreme.

Congrats on the silver!
An awe inspiring piece, beautifully woven words. Reads so smoothly with great imagery. Denial seems so have a power all of its own, as does this superb poem. Glad to see a trophy with it, well deserved

This poem carries some great imagery within the lines actually and off course, the alliteration is a superb touch of detail

Delightful
Beautiful imagery -
There is an intersting choice of words used to effect emotion in this poem.
Well done though very sad at the relationship denied.
Denial may reign supreme and some truly do live that way. We are what we believe we are. A very powerful poem. I liked this. -Wil

Alliteration is impeccable here. Thought provoking metaphors that evoke so much emotion. This speaks to all of us at one point of time or another. Well deserving of the silver sweetheart! Congratulations on your win. I'll be printing this one too

Denial is a hard force to get by. We first have to overcome ourselves. Mostly our laziness drives us into denial convincing one's self they are content. Once you allow yourself to blossom denial isn't a factor, and next thing you know you're a beautiful flower. Great write.

Denial is not our friend is it? But yet it seems we cling to it like super glue sometimes. This is a hard hitting reality check for anyone really. It spins you into the emotion and then puts your arse right at the top of the pile to glare at yourself and say "yup, done it"
Excellent piece!

Awsome use of illeteration. The fact that there's an observation of denial is powerful in itself!
