Falling in love is a subconcious fear of mine
But I know that God IS love so my opposing stance is futile.
So why fight?
Going hard to the body with love is like going hard to body with God
and since I'm made in his image, my punches will only backfire
resulting in me being knocked out, and I will fall to my inevitable defeat.
But it's just that I fear being vulnerable
like I fear getting played
so I don't wanna spread my wings only to find that they will melt if I fly too high
and we all know what happened to the last nigga that flew. (Greek mythology)
I don't wanna fly and touch cloud nine
only to find that that natural high
is only temporary, and I'll find myself inturbulent skies
wit tears in my eyes as I fall with a blaze and plung heavily into
the ocean of the heart broken
and drown as my flames of pain burn beneath my calm and placid surface.
Thus will I once again become one of the many fish in the sea
avoiding fishing hooks baited with lies, sex, and deciet.
I don't wanna be scorched, and scorned
that's why I don't want to surrender to my emotions.
Even though my opposition is futile
I don't wanna be just another fish
hooked and vulnerable, scaled and stripped of my heart
and my remains thrown to the gutter.
I don't want to embrace falling in love
until I know that you'll truly be there at the bottom to catch me
so basically
in other words, I won't embrace falling in love
until you fall in love first

I really enjoy reading your love poems.Yeah it didn't rhyme and not all poems are meant too. It's what you felt and it's the way you wanted you express it. So good job.

Its cool that it doesn't rhyme because it gives that raw emotion and your words can truly be felt. But don't be afraid to fall, it's like a leap of faith. Yet you have to brace yourself for what is to come. No love is definite, but it can be uncoditional. Just be aware that it might be just as hard for her as it is for you, but ya'll have to trust each other.

gosh boi dnt be afraid...i mean you can fall in love but u dnt have to be vulnerable..fall in love but also dont let ur guard down...rememeber everybody aint perfect so you can fall in love jus remember if u aint sure that she's ur everything, dont MAKE her ur absolute everything cuz if sumthing happens with yall and she's gone..then you'll have nuthing(yea its MY turn to preach to YOU!)... anyway great poem especially for tryin to escape writer's block
