Lovingly Comes The Night

Photobucket

The day has been hard
    and long
So many things seemed
    to have gone wrong
Winter is showing its
    cold face
Upon the ground leaving
    a white trace
Up in my room with a good
    movie playing
Warm and cozy on the couch
    happily laying
Alone, yet peaceful
    and content
Remembering this is the way
    it was meant
To end the day with joy and
    peace of heart
Knowing it is in life a
    very important part
Eyes growing heavy, tired
    from the day
Looking forward for dreams to
    sweetly come my way

Author notes

These are my thoughts most evenings as I am winding down ready for bed.

Thank you for this gentle reminder of a peaceful night spent home alone. You captured it in the perfect measure. Your rhyme was good and I appreciate rhyme more than most people because I myself have no skill with it.
But the rules were to write a 25 word poem and this is a great many words more than 25 so I'm going to have to leave you out of consideration for a trophy.
    Thank you though for entering.

      HELLO STORIESUNTOLD

I do this almost every night. I am alone but in many ways I am not for I often write down my thoughts and feelings as I am lying there watching tv or movies.*happ* Thanks so much for reading this.

Just beautiful Kevin, Sometimes we get caught up in the world outside of our selves and forget that the warmth...the confort...and the Joy comes from within!

    Outstanding

I liked how you created a contrast between the chill of winter and the warmth of a relaxing evening in front of the television, something everyone enjoys. I like how you express your thoughts in your poetry:
To end the day with joy and
    peace of heart
You have a charming simplicity that engages the reader. A fine poem with a good use of language, well-written and articulate.

Kevin, Such lovely thoughts they are and beautifully expressed through your words which created such vivid imagery. The rhythm and rhyme were superb and it left me with such a warm feeling inside. This flowed effortlessly from the page to my heart and I thank you for sharing the gift of your pen with all of us as always. Love and God bless you my friend, Joyce
