Still Feeling

Still feeling the pain
like a fast falling rain
causing a flood
that rips through the town
The people are trying
trying in vain
to save themselves
before getting mowed down
and this deadly thing
keeps going around.
In the future
fatalities compound
with few people left
there's hardly a sound
but that of the water
and the peace it has found.

This is indeed a super poem that reveals the sorrow and sufferings of the people.
you took certainly a great effort to make the pain and sufferings vivid.

A Very Best of Luck in this Contest.

I like this, it's lyrical...has a gentle melodious feel that carries it along and the rhymes aren't "in-your-face" either. I'd prefer to see it left-aligned and with line-breaks in, but that is simply personal preference. Must get around to finding that time and reading more by you. Thanks for sharing. La x

Thanks for commenting. I align most of my work in the center in order to prevent a reader's eyes from drifting off, stay focused! I intentionally made no breaks in this to make sure continuity is well established, I wanted this to be looked at primarily as one continuous thought.
