Allwun- Starring in light and dark (yin/yang revisited)

Like a movie called light and dark,
I have seen the yin and the yang again.

Its the same as ever,
  albeit enlightening as usual.

Projected as God's revenge in the dark,
it is but the law of mind,
    and inviolate,
  in the light.

While starring in the dark,
this movie always knew the light was there.
Loneliness is next to godliness,
and I sensed it five ways or more,
                        at my core.

Yet acknowledging the light in the dark
  is still the dark.

Such mysticism,
a shift away from the light
    at your core,
is but a miracle waiting to happen
turning lonely people into an oxymoron
and unity begins its reign as one
  in the light.

And life goes on.

I am Allwun,
  starring in light and dark.

Author notes

A continuation of a series on this Allwun character. I can't seem to get away from him. It may not be appropriate for this contest, and if not, please accept my apologies.
This is what I do in the winter, and I hope this makes sense to whomever may read it. But at its core this is very personal, and an attempt to put into words some intriguing thoughts I have. I see yin/yang as more than just duality, this or that, but like a mental spiralling as well, a visceral shift within which changes everything. lol. Doesn't it?

Thanks Rob, for the motivation.

sometimes, I think if the push and pull of life could be mapped, the result may be a double helix.

Very interesting reading. Methinks it fits quite well here.

I felt bad about entering this in your contest, mainly because I wanted to enter something better, or more fitting. But at the time, I was stuck and really not writing much of anything. After I entered this, I did become unstuck, so for that I thank you. Your contest kind of acted as a springboard for me, and I actually wrote a couple decent things not long after entering this. So thanks for that!
Great contest, with some incredible entries.

I get the same feeling from this as I would trying to jump into a conversation of strangers having missed the beginning of the story which leaves me somewhat mysterfied by the absence of history. There are lines in this which are very good if not disconnected. Reading the author's notes does little to alter the fact is comes across as possibly more profound than what it may actually be.

First off I with my mere brain gave it a three read..:0
then on the last I got it..

We all fight off our demons, and somehow they always beckon more in the dark, but in the light of day they do seem to lessen..

Look into the light and fight my friend..

    Wise beyond years..

    Take Care,
    Cat

Sometimes I have to read the things I write several times as well, Catressa, not always sure of them either. I think I'm winding down my "allone" series, although there are a couple left to write. I feel them there, coming...
Anyway, thanks for reading. Hope all is well in your world these days.

mmmm ... trying..trying .... couldn't wrap my head around the god reference, but having said that I suppose inner peace in ones self could be seen in a poem such as yours. Maybe? Yeah, just maybe. Pretty good.

I'd think that to an avowed atheist, the "projected revenge" would explain the ignorance underlying most religions being foisted on others. Yet we do it to ourselves, making us the "god" we fear.
At any rate, thanks for the words, and for reading.

Yeah, good call. I guess I'm all consumed in the notion that the word god shouldn't even exist in our or any language! How ridiculous is that?

And yes, we do "do" it to ourselves. I know I do.

Paradox is an ugly prison in a barren plane. It is flooded by total darkness, yet there is Light inside, not in a frequency inside the scope mortal eyes are capable of detecting, but that does not mean it does not exist. Prisoners will be free when the walls crumble, they seem solid with a firm claim on a long lasting future, but then again, nothing is what it seems to be. I enjoyed reading your poetic pondering. Thank you for creating and sharing. Take care,

    Chris

    (L)oneliness...

... the egoic take on Onliness... alone... All One

Allone, never changing, dressed in the ever changing costume of Light and Dark to play out Knowing of Self...

What is seen of a painting (thought, identification) done in Light on Light (pure white on pure white) or Dark on Dark (jet black on jet black), Being on Being, Nonbeing on Nonbeing? Yin and yang... the mirror for Allone, the image (imagination) of I AM...

    Write on, my brother....

Yup. It does seem that this world is often playing on the dark half, where change is irrelevant as this or that. Once self is known, so is light.

Indeed it does spiral combining upward as a third enity unto it's self. Sort of a trinity of all three as an end to a means. This is deep! I thought I might be pretty much alone out there in the dark ethers taking the bigger picture to task. Dang self centered of me I suppose. But it felt like to voice the touring of gray area to anyone else. I might come across as a bit flaky to those less enlightened and would be attacked for my lack of focus they see as relevent in daily manuvers. Ha! Truth is,I am. But I won't let that stop me. And niether should you my friend. Enriches the soul, you know? Perfecto!

Trinity? What a concept! lol Its almost holy!
It feels like touring the gray area to me as well, Suseann. Sometimes the moths don't come to the light, but hang around the fringes.

It make perfect sense to me, but hey I’ve always been a little out there (or in here). We are the darkness and the light, the movie and the screen, the actor, the script, the words and the space all continuiusly moving and diverging to come to a higher understanding of what this all means!

    Isn’t it marvelous!

    Terrific write Doug!
