As if I been stripped of my wings
I am dragged into the sea
The crashing waves muffled the things
You tried to say to me
You call into the darkness
‘Don’t leave me all alone’
And as I’m dragged out more
The waves soothing my broken bones
I call back to the shore
‘Goodbye, my love. Someday, I’ll return home’
Years go by and you say
‘I wish it didn’t have happen this way’
You start to believe he meant not what he said
But you don’t have any tears left to shed
You receive a message from a man long gone
You cry with joy and break into song
That man succeeded in another land
And now he’s returning back into your hands
You see a figure walking down the street
Face is bright despite the sun’s heat
As a smile touches your face
And you run to him with all haste
I say ‘Now you’re not alone’
‘Hello, my love. Today, I’ve returned home’
Author notes
I did not write this. My boyfriend wrote this and gave me permission to post it up here.
Something random. I don't know.
