Are you capable of staying in one place
for more than a moment
or do you feel the need to float through life
like a leaf in a stream of melting snow?
When life gives you lemons
why must you scowl
and beg for sugar?
Are the roots of your existence deep enough
to keep the winds of fate from putting you on your side?
I don't suppose you understand why
clouds pass you by without saying 'hello.'
I can't imagine your surprise at seeing a sunset
on the same horizon
day after day.
Maybe time has finally caught up with you
after all these years of sprinting through the human race.
