The Encounter with Utter Enchantment

http://s135.photobucket.com/mediadetail/?media=http%3A%2F%2Fi135.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fq139%2Fbmengstrom%2Ftiger.jpg&searchTerm=tiger&pageOffset=19

Looking into the tiger's bright and beautiful eyes
I was unable to look away
So enchanting as it stepped into the water, deep and blue
Because it was white it seemed to take on another hue

Appeared before me, so majestic
Carrying a very kingly demeanor
As if to say that this is my territory

I stood and waited as the big cat slowly walked towards me
Somewhat terrified, but still extremely captivated nonetheless
Tried to move, but my feet wouldn’t budge
And for some reason just could not tear my eyes away

Scanned around to see if anyone was there
Just to see if I screamed would anyone appear
No one was present I was all alone
Alone with this majestic and silent beast

Finally reached me and made a growl
While I stood there not making a sound
Opened it’s mouth to bite me
And I closed my eyes, just because I was so terrified

Then I realized that I felt nothing
Cracked my eyes open to see this cat’s teeth on my arm
But it didn’t hurt and I could not comprehend why
Took one glance at it’s face and it portrayed angry

It took a paw and tried to slash my face
For some reason I could barely feel
Got up the courage to reach out and touch it
Saw my hands go through with still nothing to feel

Came to the conclusion that it was just a ghost
What once was fear is no confirmation
Confirmation that this tiger was transparent all along

The story line of this poem is great. You chose a unique plot to go with the picture. I like how the ending was too.

Oh... wonderfully written! It was captivating, then frightening, and the end was rather sad. You really brought the beauty and the danger of the tiger to life, and then discovering it wasn't truly alive was a great twist.
