Why did they put you here?
You, who they call king of beasts?
You used to prowl your kingdom,
And hunt for your feasts.
But in the dark of night
They've taken you away.
They threw you in this cage.
Where you're forced to live today.
In the Lion's eyes is anger.
In the Lion's eyes is fear
Look into the Lion's eyes.
You won't find a tear.
In the Lion's eyes is loneliness
And a desire to be free.
Only through the Lion's eyes
Can we truly see.
Sleep oh feline ruler
Dream of your Savannah home
Remember your kingdom as it was
When you were free to roam
Think of not, these cages
They're but an awful dream
You are free within your soul
If your heart is serene

Oh, wow, this is awesome. I think we don't really think about what might be going on in a caged animals heart, mind, see it's memories, it's longing for freedom.
This is a very compassionate piece, Ben and very well written. A superb piece overall
A superb write
Dee
